Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost to join the PTA?

The current price is $12 per person. This is an annual dues to support our PTA. A small portion of your dues goes to the California PTA and we get to keep the rest. In order to cast an official vote or be an executive board member/chair member you will need to pay these dues. Anyone, of any age, may purchase a PTA membership.

What do PTA funds get used for?

Funds are used to provide as many free family events, teacher grants, and on campus student events as we can each year. PTA funds are also used for staff appreciation week, 5th grade promotion, and various other needs such as the recent replacement of our broken marquee.

How can I donate?

The best way is to donate via check, cash, or PayPal. This will ensure the greatest percentage of your donation goes straight back to students. Our PayPal link is accessible on our home page or on our "Donations" page in our "Fundraising" section of the website. Checks can be mailed to our mailing address in our "Contact Us" section. For cash donations, please email [email protected].

How can I volunteer?

Please visit our "volunteering" section of our website for detailed descriptions of the various ways you can volunteer. There are 3 main ways... become an executive board member (run the PTA year-round), become a chair member (run a specific event), or be a member at large (volunteer to support specific events). Email [email protected] to volunteer!

If I volunteer, will I be stuck in a commitment?

That depends on you! There are many ways to volunteer. Some roles require a year-long commitment (executive board members), some require a month-long commitment (chair members), and some only require a one-day commitment (at large members). The choice is up to you. We are happy to respect your boundaries if you express them!

When are the PTA elections?

We hold our elections in the Spring for the upcoming school year. If positions are still available we will hold a secondary election in the Fall. Each year ALL positions are up for election. Members may only hold the same position if they are re-elected each year. Per PTA rules, some positions have a maximum number of years you may consecutively serve in that particular position. You may still join as a board member or a chair member at any time even if you miss the elections as long as positions are still available.

When are the PTA Meetings?

Members at Large and the general public are invited to attend our 3 association meetings (fall/winter/spring). Chair members and board members are invited to attend our monthly executive board meetings. The best way to get in the know is to join as a chair or board member so you can attend monthly meetings and stay ahead of the events. See the "Meeting Schedule" section of our website for dates.
